Drinks & Nightlife

This is Verdun's microbrewery that serves beer brewed in the building. It is located in an old bank so the decor is old yet modern. In the summer months, a big terasse is in the back with trees and a fire.

Palco has great cocktails (try the bourbon lemonade!) and many nights have live music. Their second floor has a wall of board games, include some the ones from your childhood.

Parks & Nature

This park is the beginning of the bike path which follows the shore of the St-Lawrence river. Perfect for a job or biking. The park also has a small public pool surrounded by trees and not very full so quite relaxing in the summer.

I lump together Atwater Market and the Lachine Canal since this is usually the spot where I interact with the canal and don't really go to the market for shopping (not the best deals for fruits & vegetables, though good selection of imported products). On the canal you can rent bikes, kayaks etc. It is quite a long path that connects to the old port to the east and to the St-Lawrence river to the west.

Food Scene

For some reason the location maker put this in St-Henri (their second location) but the closest is at 4150 Wellington. Their bread is the best, and many desserts are too good to resist!

Good cappuccinos here and a selection of unique grilled cheeses. It does get noisy, so if you want to work from here and use their free wifi, bring headphones. They are open much later than most coffee shops (usually 9:00OM but check their Google Maps listings).

If you're more into organic coffee and vegan treats, this place is for you. Another great place to work out of.

I've only been here for brunch but everything I've tried was delicious and my guests always love. It's for meat lovers though, don't expect much for vegetarians.

For something fancier, try this turkish restaurant. It's a bit further on Wellington, but with the detour and the extra price.
