Neighbourhoods

Cat Cottage has four resident feline co-hosts together with me, Donna, to welcome you to stay at our beautiful home in Somerset. Springfield Buildings was built in 1880 to house the rural coal mining workers. I have lived here for 23 years and now that my family are grown, I would like to share my lovely cottage. In a rural setting with stunning views on the Mendip Hills, we are within half an hour’s drive to Bath, Wells, Glastonbury and Bristol. Cat Cottage is situated on a private lane and offers off road allocated parking. There are many country pubs and restaurants nearby and food delivery services for take-out. I have restored the cottage to be cosy and comfortable without detracting from the original features. The bedrooms retain their Victorian cast iron fireplaces, and the sitting room has a large open fire. Due to the age of the cottage the stairs are relatively steep, therefore, unfortunately not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties, sorry. There are also steps down to the front entrance. There are three separate enclosed gardens which you are welcome to enjoy and of course the cats! Solomon, Vivi, Sunshine and Moonbeam. If you love cats and like interacting with them please come and stay and make friends! The guest room has a double bed, TV including Prime and Netflix, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows, alternative bedding, towels and a hairdryer. The bathroom is shared with me only and I can be available to help with anything else you may need. Use of the kitchen and sitting room can be arranged if available by all means. There can also be fridge space for you if required. Cat Cottage is no smoking, however, vapes are fine. Smoking is of course permitted in the gardens. As Cat Cottage invites you to meet the felines, obviously it may not suit everyone and I need to point out to potential visitors that anyone with a fur allergy may suffer. It’s not compulsory to love cats but if you do it’s their home and they’ll entertain you!
