Traveler advice

Getting around

Subways & Buses

Metrocards are needed to travel by subway and/or bus in all five NYC boroughs. They can be purchased in the subway stations.
Getting around

Taxis

You can wave down a yellow taxi while you’re in Manhattan, but in Brooklyn you will need to download the app “Curb” if you’d like to order a yellow taxi to pick you up. Uber & Lyft is also available here.
Customs and culture

Like A New Yorker :)

New Yorkers are fast walkers - best to be mindful of this in Manhattan. :) Also, if your subway entrance/exit provides an escalator, the right side of the escalator is for standing still and the left side is for allowing people to walk up and down.
