Our FAVOURITE spot for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake! Fresh, homemade food, really good coffee (we love the flat white) and lemon drizzle cake to die for!. You can come to eat, drink, paint or buy some painted pottery - or any combination of these!

Very nice restaurant with really good quality food in a very atmospheric location. The Hawthorn does, however, get very busy and it’s best to book a table to avoid disappointment.

30 seconds from our front door (yes on foot!), a good old pub as the name suggests with a wide choice of pub food and also a restaurant menu. We love going to the Monday night quiz!

Very good pub grub in a beautiful building. The Old Hall does tend to get busy in the evenings and it is definitely worth booking a table.

Informations sur la ville

There are stunning walks right from the front door including the Brontë Falls and Top Withens. At the property, you will find several suggestions for local walks inspired by the Brontë sisters and which are a fantastic way to discover the area. You may also want to try the Bronte Way, a 43-mile trail that winds its way through moors and valleys, past various points of interest from the books. There’s also plenty of pubs for those all-important stopping points. Alternatively, you may want to just stroll down the hill into the heart of Haworth, where there are plenty of cafés, pubs, galleries and interesting shops. We've also included some of our favourite places to eat and drink in this guide!

Saltaire was founded in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt, a leading industrialist in the Yorkshire woollen industry, as a self-contained mill community. The name Saltaire combines the founder’s surname and the name of the River Aire that runs through the Village. In December 2001, the village was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Mill is now home to a David Hockney gallery, some super shops and lovely restaurants. We really love this place and recommend that you have a stroll in the park or a walk along the canal that takes you through to Bingley and the Five Rise Locks. Oh, and don’t forget to stop off for a cream scone and tea!

Bingley Five-Rise Locks staircase is the most spectacular feature of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The staircase locks open directly from one to another, lifting boats 18 metres (60 feet) up the valley along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

No trip to Haworth would be complete without visiting this little gem of a museum, which is quite literally on the doorstep of West Lane Cottage. Stepping into the Parsonage, home of the Brontës, is a real step back in time and brings the sisters and their works to life. You can see the original dining table where the sisters sat and worked on the novels that would make them internationally famous, as well as an imagined recreation of the bedroom and study of their infamous brother, the torture poet and opium addict, Bramwell.

This is a must, particularly if you are tired of walking! Running for five miles along a branch line between Keighley and Oxenhope, the railway, run by volunteers, provides rides on diesel and steam engines and was famously used in the Railway Children. You can order drinks or snacks to enjoy during the ride. The railway also runs a number of themed events and festivals throughout the year so be sure to check their website for upcoming events.
