Beautiful decor, fantastic long bar, all overlooking the Derwent. The food is fabulous. You may simply wish to have a pre-dinner drink prior to going elsewhere or enjoy the array of small dishes. I can highly recommend the oysters!

A favourite hang-out. The bar is great on sunny days, sit on the deck and watch the yachts go by or cosy up by the circular fire on a wintery day and enjoy the fabulous views. Features The Story Bar and Old Wharf Restaurant. The site has a colorful and distant past. Tales of convicts, hangings, love, whaling and so much more. Enjoy fabulous food and a relaxed casual bar with unsurpassed views. Frogmore Creek Restaurant and Bar, Colville Gallery are also housed within this beautifully designed building.

Any chat about Hobart's food scene will inevitably lead to Fico, new kid on the Macquarie Street block. The story so far: young chef Oskar Rossi, son of noted Hobart artist Tom Samek, returns from world travels, including a stint at Vue de Monde in Melbourne, with his Naples born beau on his arm. The transformation of this former newsagency cum cafe has been astounding. The owners and chefs here are Federica Andrisani and Oskar Rossi who are young but with lots of experience in high-end restaurants in Australia and Italy.

Drawn from a love of simple, elegant dishes paired with old and new world wines from home and abroad comes Ettie's, a European inspired wine bar, bottle shop and dining room. Ettie's is a casual bistro, that champions the local produce of Tasmania, in the beautiful surrounds of one of Hobart's oldest buildings.

Drinks & Nightlife

The latest addition to Salamanca's array of bars and eateries. It has fast become the hang-out for the locals and tourists alike. Venture inside and upstairs. Be quick to get a seat outside! Great selection of wines, I particularly love Pooleys Riesling and their fabulous chicken wings and steamed buns!

What a perfect ambience. Stroll down Salamanca to Wooby's Lane. The decor is very moody, a perfect setting for a romantic after dinner drink - or experience the whisky tasting. The staff is very informative and excellent!

Parks & Nature

This is opposite your stay! This park is a local favourite. We often picnic with a group of friends, sitting high on the hill, overlooking the Derwent with a birds eye view of the harbour and ships. I have a fully equipped picnic basket under the stairwell, all ready for you to stroll down to the markets, pick up your treats and enjoy. This is also perfect if you have little children, fantastic playground for young and old!

Shopping

Lucy is the owner of this fabulous store. Awarded the 'best' small business in Australia recently, Lucy travelled to Milan to be awarded her prize. Lucy has an amazing array of gifts and products. Clothes, jewellery, gifts, linens to name a few. The beautiful french linen sheets in 104 On the Park, luxurious towels, bedside tables, lamps and more... come from LUC. So many of my guests have purchased the same bed-linen after their stay experience.
