Mangalore is synonymous with ice creams. Ideal ice cream also called Pabbas has many outlets in the city. The most popular on the menu is undoubtedly Gadbad. Pizza ice cream and ice cream Thali are some other unusual options. Though I personally love their cutlets. Yes they also have snacks and great for an evening out in the city.

This temple is believed to belong to the 10th century and Mangalore's very being is connected to the story linking Parashurama to this temple, where Lord Shiva makes Kadri his abode as Manjunatheshwara. This temple is best visited early in the morning to enjoy the pleasant weather, the water tanks from the natural spring and the hanuman temple at the top of the hill. The Sathyanarayan temple near this temple is also very beautiful.

Getting around

Better to arrange a taxi beforehand

If depending on local transport, it's better to hire a taxi in advance as it is easily at your disposal and you can reach the planned destination in time. Though Ola is available, many times there are last minute cancellations and results in loss of time. Though from the railway station there are pre paid taxis which are much more economical.
