Sightseeing

This shows the 'Old Man' a wonderful place to walk and for the more adventurous to climb. The views are stunning, the wind can be powerful and blow you off your feet. Its a fairly steep climb but very much worth taking a picnic to share at the top or half way up, whichever takes your fancy. Please wear appropriate footwear and as with all hilly walks on Skye take suitable outer clothing as the weather can turn in an instant, even on a sunny summer day. And sunscreen, there is no pollution here so it's easy to burn. Ample parking and new lavatories.

Utterly awe inspiring walking country. Prepare to be stunned. As with all walking on this island and it's suddenly changing weather, please be prepared. Sun screen, strong walking footwear, rain/windproof layers, food and water. In lovely weather all our hills and mountains can look very benign but because we are an island this can change instantly!

Fairly easy walking along a hard but unmade path, a magical place. Ample parking. If you are brave enough to dare the icy water take swimmers or wetsuits.

Lovely village with good eateries, deli, museum and two churches circular walk which is fun as you go through the forest and along the path there are wee fairie doors on some of the trees, put there in lockdown by children from the local school

Words fail. Go see. And view the Outer Hebrides at the same time. Utterly stunning at all times of the year. This is a VERY steep walk but a good permanent pathway. The views are unsurpassed and at the right time of the year seals, dolphins and basking sharks may be spotted. Also a great nesting cliff for all manner of sea birds. If you go nowhere else go here!

Amazing beach and shallow clear blue seas. Lovely walk down to the beach and it is fairly easy. Parking at the top. Access to carpark is narrow so be prepared to drive slowly and carefully. limited parking. This is a white coral beach which is well worth a visit.

Possibly best beach on Skye. When the tide is out there is lots of space and sand for the family to play games and run off some steam. Parking is limited, difficult and only off road. The walk to the beach is long from either access point but well worth it. A glorious day out to be had here.

Very relaxed pub with excellent pub food and sometimes live music. small, dark and old. Especially cosy in the winter months when the log fire is burning. Also outside eating space at the edge of and overlooking the loch. Very welcoming.
