Realy beautiful and one of the most touristic beaches in Portugal with very good restaurantes, great seafood and tradicional dishes. Excelent for swimming.
The north side is also known for its giant waves. The biggest wave ever surfed in the world was there, a few years ago. Since that, north beach is like a mecca for surfers and a lot of curious people.

Don't leave before to take a coffee or a natural fruit juice in Espaço Eça. Than you can visit Sé de Leiria, the main church in town, just a few steps from there.
