Salento Is undeniable beautiful. This colonial Colombian town has retained much of its old world charm, and serves as a portal to another time, another way of life. And that’s just inside the town itself.
Chinchiná is the town that gives the greatest honor to coffee, the flagship of the region's exports and the crop that promoted the economic and social development of the Colombian west during the last century. In Chinchiná, coffee has a privileged setting where crops, processing, training centers and scientific research converge. The economy of the area is historically associated with the sowing, processing and industrialization of the grain, about 5,000 ha of beautiful coffee plantations adorn the landscape of the municipality; Likewise, the lyophilized coffee factory stands out as the second largest producing plant in Latin America. Additionally, the opportunities it offers for rural tourism, as well as its geographical position at an intermediate point between the cities of Pereira and Manizales, less than 20 km from each, motivate tourists to enjoy Chinchiná.

There, there is a vast space where You can do activities such as Bird Watching in the Coffee Cultural Landscape. This landscape is particular in the eyes of the world because the difficult geographical condition of the mountain ranges, the effort of the work of our people in the production of coffee and the richness in biological biodiversity characteristic of its relief, climate and location are interwoven in a coordinated manner. Main destinations for Bird Watching in the Coffee Cultural Landscape • Manizales, called by the poet Pablo Neruda as the "Factory of Sunsets" has about eighty species of birds that you can see in the urban area. • Cerro Montezuma - Tatamá Natural Park -located just over three hours from the city of Armenia- is a destination considered one of the best in the world for ornithologists. Due to its geographical location, it is a refuge for animal and vegetable varieties that boasts twelve endemic species of birds, and thirty-five that we share with the sister Republic of Ecuador. This virgin wasteland is a protected area refuge of the famous tangaras. • The Río Blanco Nature Reserve is located thirty minutes from Manizales. With a height that varies from two thousand two hundred meters to three thousand eight hundred meters, - full of forests - it has four hundred species of birds. The peculiarity of this place is that it is the paradise of hummingbirds, and it has numerous bird feeders where you can easily see them and take magnificent photographs. • The Los Nevados National Natural Park is the favorite habitat of our Condor de los Andes.
