Point Lonsdale frontbeach is a more family friendly calm beach (generally but not always!). There's a great playground for younger kids at the foreshore.

Point Lonsdale back beach is wild and awesome. If you're fit and keen it's a nice walk to Ocean Grove (about 8 kms /16km return). If you're taking a dog be sure to keep it ON LEASH as there are nesting hooded plovers there and they're endangered.

Historic steam train and station leaving from Queenscliff and doing return trips to Drysdale. They often have special themed events (Thomas the Tank Engine anyone?).
