Snowshoe is not only known for their skiing/snowboarding slopes, during the summer months their mountain biking trails are some of the best!
Snowshoe village allows you & your family to enjoy shopping, dining, easy lift access, shuttles, recreational activities (zip-lining, boating @ the lake), & so many events like - Blues Brews & BBQs, Treasure on the Mountain, Wanderlust, GNCC, & 4848.

Sightseeing
Riding The Cass Train has been one of my all time favorite things to do, not only as a child, but as an adult! There is nothing quite like it, & the views are amazing!
Cass is also a very historical landmark in Pocahontas County, it looks the same as it did 100 years ago. The original Company Store is still open today & has the neatest old timey toys, souvenirs, candy, & more. There is also a restaurant located in the store. You can schedule train rides & historical tours of the little town located right in Pocahontas County. You can also bike The Greenbrier River Trail all the way from Marlinton to Cass!

Neat boardwalk through what is called Bear Town. The boardwalk leads you through large boulders/rocks with neat markings & indents all over them. Great for family outings or even picnics!

The board walk through Cranberry Glades has some unique views & unique vegetation that is quite interesting. This is another great place for a family outing!
Also, don’t forget to stop by The Cranberry Nature Center. Educational, & they have live snakes (contained of course)!

Views for miles, the most beautiful in the fall when the leaves begin to change! If you enjoy day tripping with your buddies on your motorcycles with tons of views and stops along the way then this is a must!
The Highland Scenic Highway is any outdoors-mans dream, considering all of the land along both sides of The Highway is all public access!
Easy access to a few hiking trails & overlooks along the way. Not to mention numerous government side roads leading to more of Pocahontas Counties natural habitat like Williams River, & Tea Creek (Great Trout Fishing).
Also, Hills Creek Falls & Honey Combs rocks can be accessed by traveling this highway. Cranberry Nature Center is accessible as well, it is located on the Richwood end of the Highway.

This is where I spend most of my summers. Whether it be kayaking, swimming, fishing, biking, etc. Easy access to The Greenbrier River Trail, minutes away from Watoga State Park, & Jack Horner’s Corner (Great Pizza & Ice Cream)!
