Great cajun/seafood place on the island. mostly locals eat here. it is perhaps on the fringe of being a tourist place but much less so than the traps on the sea wall which feature high prices and marginal food. .

Craft bar with about 80-100? taps. Fantastic Vietnamese food. Order the shaking beef and the pork noodle stir fry. they have a brownie ice cream desert drenched in one of the stout beers they have on tap. Awesome! One of the best craft beer places in the entire Houston area.

THE most amazing pecan grilled oysters on the half shell. order Oysters Shrimphooley. The decorum is...well...rustic "redneck"? but the food in general is off the chain. sadly, they do not allow children so.....plan this venue as an adult only diversion. It was once rated by the magazine "Southern Living" as the best dive on the entire gulf coast. we like to come here for lunch and enjoy a few Corona's with our food.

Fantastic tour of a WW1 era battleship that was also used and updated in WW2. The tour includes areas that can be visited below deck as well as above. Get your photo taken while sitting on an anti aircraft gun! Of the touristy attractions in the area, this one is my personal favorite. I don't remember the cost of a ticket. It has been a few years since I was there, but it seems like it was priced very reasonably.
