Known for the chicken and waffles but my favorite dish is the house-special pandan and ube waffles with caramelized condensed milk, whipped cream, wild berries, and two scoops of ube ice cream. Doooo it.

As a southerner, this southern inspired hits all the right marks. Whiskey & Coffee with bourbon and coffee liquor is served at "The Old Man Barr", fried chicken and waffles with pecans are probably the best in the city. They serve bacon that I call "steaken". Just go, you'll see what I mean.

It's sceney af and certainly a place to see and be seen - plus the food is unbelievably good. You stand in line to order, and frankly, the line is absolute chaos. However, once you get your food you'll be so happy to eat it. It's delicious. Fresh breads and smoked fish are the things to order.

One of the most rich brunches you can imagine. I highly recommend checking out some hikes after eating here. The pork belly sausage breakfast sandwich or the fried chicken and waffle with gravy and pickled fresno chiles are the things to order.

Everything on the menu is great, but the top picks are fish sandwich, made with locally caught, tempura-battered fried fish and kosho tartar sauce, or the Japanese porridge bowl with housemade pickles, dashi broth, Okinawa potatoes, mushrooms, greens, miso granola, and a soft boiled egg.

There will be a line, so plan for that. However, locals know that the restaurant is worth the wait. I suggest the Larry David platter, with house-smoked whitefish, lacto-fermented pickles, rugbrød, and shu greens.
