Polkerris beach is an idyllic sheltered sandy Cornish cove. It offers a variety of landscapes, superb views, coastal walks and historical features. Well know for its links with the author Daphne Du Maurier and the setting of many of her novels. There is a great pub called The Rashleigh Arms which is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down and the restaurant "Sams on the Beach" in a converted lifeboat station, now serving wood fired pizzas and exceptional seafood.

A fascinating attraction, two biotherms house plants that have been collected from many diverse climates and environments. Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world and if you're feeling brave have a go on the zip lines! The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit about 5 miles from the house.

My favourite place to visit any time of year! The gardens are one of the most popular botanical gardens to visit in the UK. 29 years ago Heligans historic gardens were unknown, lost to brambles since the outbreak of WW1. It was only the chance discovery that have put the gardens back to where they belong - a beautiful historical day out.

Encounter Cornwall can be found along the front in Golant in the Boatshed. From here you can either hire a kayak or paddle board or join one of the guided tours along the Fowey Estuary to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty and marine conservation area. Teeming with wildlife that includes Kingfishers, Herons, Egrets, Cormorants and if you're lucky a seal or dolphin.

An historic town set on the river full of interesting shops and tea rooms. From here you can visit a short drive away, the ruins of Restormal Castle or try the tasty tearoom at The Duchy Nursery.

A pretty waterside village with a great little shop that serves amazing cream teas on the green. Explore the wonderful walks along the river and into Ethy Woods - a very magical walk.

A trip to the beautiful quaint harbour town of Fowey is a must! Wander around the tight little back streets full of interesting shops or sit and take in the view and the boats racing up and down the river. There are lots of food options here too! Hop on the passenger ferry over to the small fishing village of Polruan, here you will find a couple of pubs and a tea shop.

Kayak trips or stand up paddle boarding can be found on the front in Golant - booking essential due to tide times and numbers, but well worth looking into just to experience this wonderful estuary and its wildlife from a different perspective
