Traveler advice

Getting around

Scooters are convenient if you are comfortable on one.

If you haven't driven a scooter before. Getting around by foot in town and hiring a driver for longer trips comes highly recommended. In the guidebook, you'll find a few numbers of local drivers and the gojek and grab applications can also work.
Customs and culture

Balinese culture is abundant in Ubud.

So see a dance or gamelan performance at one of the several locations in town (Arma being the closest). The village of Mas has many artists (wood carvers, painters, sculptors..) and many art galleries and shops to check out. It goes without saying that proper clothing in public is encouraged (no bikinis or topless guys).
Don't miss

The ubud central market early morning

Lively and abundant, the downtown Ubud central market in the early morning hours is a feast for the senses. Photographers will find it more than inspiring.
