De Haar Castle is the largest castle in the Netherlands. At the end of the 19th century the castle was restored by the famous architect Pierre Cuypers, who is also designer of the Central Station and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The castle is from the 13th or 14th century and is built in a neo-gothic style, but the interior is eclectic, since it has been shaped by different residents. It features many nail-proof decorations, old furniture pieces and a silver cutlery with the family crest. There are also many art objects in the castle. Next to the castle is a chapel built and the castle also has a beautiful park and beautiful gardens, which were designed by Hendrik Copijn.
