This is an activity 10 minutes from my home. Phoenix Zoo is an excellent activity with children. They have a light show in the winter.
The Botanical Garden has a selection of cacti that may interest you. It also accommodate an art show and a light show.

The great view of Phoenix. You have to climb a small hill. It can be done within 15 minutes. It is ageless, very easy climb. Great scenic photo place of Phoenix. Papago Park offers many trails in the desert. Go in early morning. Always take water with you!
