The local lighthouse is open monthly. The annual Lighthouse Festival held the end of Oct, gets bigger and better each year. This year sees the addition of a Burnett Heads Music Festival.

The Turtle Trail - Walking/Cycling Track

A beautiful walking/riding trail from the Port to Bargara. Ride bikes or go for a leisurely stroll. Take a picnic or some snacks and don't forget your camera!
Customs and culture

During Turtle season, please remember that the turtles are sensitive to light.

When driving down along the foreshore, please remember not to use high-beam headlights. Thanks :)
Book before you go

The Mon Repos nightly turtle tours can get booked out!

Turtles do come up on our Oaks Beach, but if you are wanting to have a guided tour at Mon Repos Turtle Center, you will need to book in advance. To avoid disappointment, please book tours early. 🐢
