This is a great place to have authentic rich tasting local southern food. Must have dishes, in my opinion, are: ปลาหมึกผัดไข่เค็ม (stir fried squid with salted eggs), คั่ววาย (octopus coconut curry), แกงส้มสับปะรด (orange curry with pineapple), ยำไข่เม่น (spicy uni ceviche), ใบเหลียงผัดไข่ (stir fried baegu leaves with scrambled eggs), หมูกุ้งผัดกะปิสะตอ (stir fried Thai bitter beans, pork and prawns with shrimp paste), ข้าวหมกไก่ (biryani), กุ้งอบวุ้นเส้น (casseroled shrimps with glass noodles), Tom Yum Khung, and lastly, my favourite, ปลาจาระเม็ดผัดเปรี้ยวหวาน (deep fried silver pomfret bathed in rich sweet and sour sauce; you can substitute the fish as preferred). https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g303907-d7368231-Reviews-Nong_View_Restaraunt-Ko_Pha_Ngan_Surat_Thani_Province.html https://goo.gl/maps/Xpc1YPrdaVEmxUoE9

My favourite place to dine. A little on the more expensive side but the sunset view and their “ducks in love” dish are to die for! Make sure you arrive early in the evening to beat the crowd/take a plunge in the Infiniti pool to catch an unforgettable sunset on a clear day.

Who doesn’t enjoy fresh local-caught seafood cooked by a great local chef? The view here is also amazing. I recommend to stop by for lunch and also take the opportunity to enjoy one of the nicest white-sand beaches on Koh Phangan around the area or visit a dive shop in the neighbourhood to book yourself a diving trip to the world renown dive site: Sail Rock.

If you went to Koh Phangan without having visited Phantip Night Market, you haven’t been to Koh Phangan! Located right in downtown Thong Sala, it’s always bustling with street vendors providing you with the largest selection of food you’ll find anywhere on the island. It is frequented by locals and tourists and is very cost-friendly.
