For a evening stroll of a Sunday walk to Fen Ditton’s pub the Plough, walk along the river through Stourbridge common. Take in the scenery and watch the rowers go up and down the river. All year you watch exciting rowing races with the best of all ‘The Bumps’ in may and July, where colleges and locals fight it out for the top spot on the river by chasing crews in front of them until they ‘bump’ each other. See Cambridge Rowing Association for details on races.

This is a beautiful part of the river free from narrow boats but accessible by canoe or punt. You can either hire boats at Scudamores or walk here. It’s soo a regular swim spot for those brave enough to dip in the cold waters.
