This is where you will find the best coffee in town and it's only a few steps from my apartment. It's tiny so you might not find a seat but take a coffee to go and sit on the corner while you plan your day.

Drinks & Nightlife

My favorite bar. It's got two different spaces, one that's more quiet and another one that has DJ's during the weekends with great current music.

This is my go-to afterwork bar. It's a hostel but a really nice bar with a balcony on the 4th floor. You just take the elevator to the top floor and you are there.

When I want to go out dancing this is the place. Most of the time it's great dj's, it's got my favorite Icelandic beer Einstök white ale and a nice atmosphere (though it's still a dirty bar!).

Parks & Nature

This is a man-made beach where you can swim in the ocean or just have a pic nic and enjoy the surroundings. It's a nice 4km walk from my apartment to walk along the shore. I often go for a run in this area as well.

This is a nice but small park in the heart of Reykjavík. You have the "pond" and nice sculptures all around.

Arts & Culture

This is my favorite Icelandic museum. It's mostly sculptures by Einar Jónsson. He built this house, which looks like a castle in the 1920's and at that time it was "out of the city" in the middle of nowhere which is now, the center of the city! His and his wife's apartment is on the top floor which has been kept in a good state. There is also a beautiful garden behind the castle with lots a lovely sculptures and absolutely free.
