If you're a fan of felines, get your caffeine fix AND some cat time in at this great place, just a short walk away! If you live somewhat local, you might even end up adopting a friend to take home with you at the end of your stay :)

A walk at the edge of the lake (or all the way around, if you're looking for exercise!) always hits the spot.

Gorgeous art deco theater. If you're lucky enough to be here when they're showing a classic movie (for $8), hosting a big performance, or running a public tour (1st & 3rd Saturdays each month, just $5), don't miss it.

Community staple, second-run theater where you can have your food & drinks delivered to you at your couch (or other comfy living-room-like viewing situation). We <3 the New Parkway.

We're spoiled for historic indie theaters here. An Oakland institution & THE place to see a big movie (or any other first-run film) opening weekend. In the main auditorium on Friday & Saturday evenings, you'll also enjoy live Mighty Wurlitzer Organ playing (on a keyboard that magically rises out of, then sinks below, the stage) pre-show!
