The Festival Puccini takes place every summer between July and August and the theatre is just on the side of the lake, with amazing views.
You can buy tickets online or directly at the ticket desk.
It takes 20 minutes walking from the flat or 10 minutes by bike.

There is also a nice trip to Cinque Terre that leaves from the Pier of Viareggio at 09:00, brings you to Porto Venere for 1 hour and then to Monterosso Al Mare for three hours. In Monterosso you can explore the town and go to the beach (which is mainly pebbles but wonderful).
