Food Scene

Great atmosphere, great food, great wine! Andy, the proprietor, creates a festive and delicious dining experience every night. Most food (much of it sourced locally) is cooked in the beautiful wood-fired oven and the menu is really creative. Plus it's only 5 minutes away! Noon - 9 every day (one of the only places to get a great meal at 3 in the afternoon). Tell him we sent you! (Reservations are not accepted - first come, first served, but there is community seating also.)

Lovely little spot with romantic atmosphere, dark lighting, good wine and locally sourced food. Her lunch spot, Manzanita Market, is equally delicious but doesn't show up on the map - it's on Taos Plaza. Credit cards not accepted at the Love Apple, but reservations are.

Best chocolate made and served by the sweetest, coolest people, in the cutest shop. All fair trade, single-origin kind of stuff, hand-crafted. The hot chocolate is a must-have!

If you're on the south side of town and need a bite to eat (or a whole pie for later), check out this place. Great food to go or eat there, and they make a mean matcha latte (and coffee drinks, of course).

Mike Reynolds invented Earthship architecture. These homes, just past the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, are all completely off-grid, and some of them spectacularly beautiful. There is a home to tour.
