Take the cable car or walk up 'sherpa' stairs all the way up (about 25 min) for stunning view of the city and it's fraims of mountains. Perfect for spotting midnight sun in spring/summer and aurora in winter. Fjellstua is a cafe, so you can enjoy a ok lunch/dinner with the wiew. Also you can walk further to 'Fløya', a mountain ca 600 meters above sealevel. The cable car takes you over the steepest part, to 350 meters above sealevel. From fjellstua its a easy ca. 30 minute walk.

I really recommend this place to drive to. The area arround Sommarøy and Brensholmen is full of white beaches made from fragments of coral reefs along the coast. The white beaches has given the island its name 'sommarøy', witch means 'summer island' Easy hiking and relaxing on the beaches in summertime is popular, but dosn't get crowded as there is so many places to go. (Car needed)!
