This tiny church, surrounded by high street shops, offers a silent refuge from the busy Kalverstraat. It history goes back to the 17th century and the aftermath of the Reformation, when it was founded as a conventicle where Catholics could convene in silence. It was located behind a bird shop, hence the name "De Papegaai" (the parrot).

Several years ago, the houses were renovated and consolidated into 12 houses, which are rented out by a housing association.
