The tallest cathedral in the UK, a spire over 400ft high, the largest close in the world, the oldest working clock in the world, the largest cloisters, an original of the magna carta as well as everything else - really, what is not to like? Add to this you have interesting shops, bars, pubs, cafes, riverside walks where you may see kingfishers and otters if you are lucky etc. John Constable painted many world famous pictures from the water meadows. Well worth the 50 minute drive. All in all a lovely medieval city with a stunning cathedral and 8 miles from Stonehenge. A perfect day out.

Possibly one of the most famous places in the world - Try to avoid busy times and if you can, go out of season for the best experience. Sunrise and sunset in the summer after closing time where you can still get very close to the 'stones' are best!

Typically the chocolate box village in the New Forest with tea rooms, antique shops, pubs, ice cream parlours etc. Gets very busy in the summer and try not to let the ponies eat your lunch if eating outside in the pubs!

Like Salisbury, this is an historic cathedral city. Home of Alfred the great and the round table, essentially capital of England before London and a the longest cathedral in the UK. Interesting shops, great pubs and a very lively atmosphere.
