This iconic Theater renovated in early 2016 was originally constructed in 1960. Architect was Kunio Maekawa one of the best architects during post WW2 in japan. He established his office after working for Le Corbusier and Antonin Raymond, he designed Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo Kaijo Building. He is considered the father of Japanese modernism of architecture. Many famous architects including Kenzo Tange worked at his office.
