Food scene

The cover shows me enjoying lunch outside at Jimmie's Pub, in The Ojai Vally Inn. From where I'm sitting, under a beautiful oak tree, I have an amazing view of the mountains. It's gorgeous! Oh, and the food is good too :-)
I come here a lot. Super casual as you can see, order your food then go outside and they will bring it to you. It's a sort of walled in garden type feel. I photographed one of my favourites, chicken salad won ton. I get the big one they save the rest for 2 nights later and it's even better. Their pizza is wonderful too.

This was opening day. I can't remember what was in the salads, but they were great. The whole menu is appealing. We sat outside but inside is also a feast for your eyes. Lovely and unique designs, the floors, walls and lamps... everything.

Swimming pool and slide

The swimming pool and slide are part of the lake camping community. You may have to pay a small fee, but you can save on parking if there are spaces available without going through the main gate. Only a short walk to the pool.
This is the lake where the rowing competition took place at the 1984 Olympics. During the drought that started a few years ago, acres of land was exposed where once there was water. It's a little better now but it will take a few good rain years to bring it back to what it once was. You can rent boats , canoes, take a picnic, go bass fishing alone or with a guide. It has a 100 mile of shore line.

Traveler advice

Don't miss

Rainbow Bridge 211 Matilija Street, Parallel to Ojai Ave.,

It's a market, different from Vons etc. Has items you won't find elsewhere, it has a wonderful takeout section and also an area to eat inside or out. You can also find great gifts, if you're looking. There is a huge 2 hour parking lot which is also the back entrance to Rains department store, and next door to Sage.
Getting around

bicycles are a fun way to get around the town and explore.

Bicycles are for rent at the Mob Shop 110 W ojaiAve They have all kinds of cycles, even with a motor option! But remember, I have two bikes for you in my garage. You could rent helmets if you want, from the Mob Shop.
Don't miss

Bosch Michelle

Beautiful, tasteful, store in the Arcade. The photographs show what I mean, but being there is a treat for your soul.
