City/town information

Bluffton's Main Street - Quaint small town with artist shops and craft stores. Several great restaurants. Some of our favorites are Captain Woody’s which has a fun and casual atmosphere and The Pearl which has a more elegant atmosphere. About 25 minute drive from condo.

Charleston - It’s about 1.5 hours away maybe a little less. You will go through Beaufort on the way to Charleston and could possibly do both towns if you get an early start. Charleston is different from Savannah but still very historic. Great restaurants. We recommend Charleston Harbour Tour and Boon Hall Plantation tour which includes a ferry ride on the Carolina Belle and a tour of a beautiful plantation. It is about $60 and well worth it. If you like restaurants on the water, you could head over to Shem Creek (located in Mt Pleasant just outside of Charleston) and sit on the patio and watch dolphins follow the boats.

Savannah - Take the back roads to Savannah. It’s about a 45 minute drive from Hilton Head. They have a street festival on river street the first Saturday of each month. Definitely take the hop on, hop off trolley tour. It’s about $20 and well worth it. You will learn so much about the city and see some really neat buildings. If you are into Civil War history and forts, you will want to visit Fort Pulaski. All of this will take a full day.

Daufuskie Island – It’s a nice ferry boat ride over and you may see Dolphins here as well. There are a few restaurants and you can rent a golf cart to explore the island.
