Lac Montbel has two beaches...for a big pebbly beach head to the Montbel side. There is a restaurant and a buvette but take a parasol because there is not much shade. Great for swimming and paddleboarding.
The Léran side has a very small sandy beach but a very nice and large picnic area in the shade under the trees. There is also a restaurant and paddleboard hire.
Both beaches are 20 minutes by car.

Our favourite lake just 20 minutes drive through the Fôret de Belesta, it has a sandy beach, plenty of shade, large car park, tennis courts and a buvette / restaurant.
