Hiking
This is a nice (and flat!) walk around beautiful Coot Lake. This is a favorite swimming hole for many Boulder dogs, and one of my favorite views of the mountains from the plains. This is a little ways outside of town (about 10 min drive) but certainly worth it. If you love nature, this walk also features a wildlife reserve for wetland species.

This is one of my favorite trail systems. Remember, you are at high elevation, so remember to drink water. For a fun shorter activity, you can hike the Mount Sanitas Valley Trail. From the top you can see Boulder and beyond.
If you are acclimated (local term for being used to the altitude) and ready for a three hour adventure, try the Mount Sanitas trail. Locals commonly refer to this one as the "stair-master." From the top of this trail, you'll be able to see amazing views of the mountains on one side and the city of Boulder on the other.

This trail is where I like to go for a nice low key mountain stroll. This trail has a moderate incline but has wonderful views of the Flatirons (Boulder's prized mountain range) and has nice coverage.
