Sightseeing
10 to 20 min walking tracks. The entrance to the reserve is at the end of Buller Road, off State Highway 1. From Whare Pūkeko head back towards Levin for approximately 7.3km then turn right onto CD Farm Rd just before the racecourse and drive for 2.7 km then turn right onto Buller Road and drive to the end of the road to the reserve entrance.
Papaitonga Scenic Reserve

Levin Golf Course is located just 6 minutes’ drive from Whare Pūkeko. The design of the course follows the natural contours of the land. From the many vantage points you can admire panoramic views of the Tararua mountain ranges and the Horowhenua countryside. The 18 hole, 6121 metre course combines a number of features that provide an interesting and challenging test for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Kimberley Reserve is a 20 min drive from Whare Pūkeko. Nestled in a bush setting next to the Ohau river with many popular swimming holes and walking tracks nearby. There are plenty of grassy areas for families to enjoy a picnic, a spot of cricket, touch rugby or take the dog for a walk. There is a toilet/changing block open from 1st December - Easter Weekend.
Dogs allowed off leash but must be under control at all times and kept away from swimmers/bush. Warning: There is pest control work going on in this reserve. Please keep dogs on a leash and keep children in direct sight. Signage at the reserve provides more detailed information.
