Trips to the seaside

The coast is only a 25 minute drive from Gelli and the towns of New Quay, Aberaeron, and Aberporth are worth a visit for the ultimate Welsh seaside experience.
New Quay can get very busy in the summer months but there is extra parking. You must try the mackerel bites from the Limed Crab or just enjoy a drink at one of the many pubs and bars overlooking the bay and spot the dolphins bobbing around in the ocean.

Another beautiful seaside town ideal for visiting the beach for a swim. Also a lovely cafe with grassed area on the hillside overlooking the beach if you don't fancy going onto the beach. Parking can be tricky at the best of times.

Great if you're looking for something a bit more lively as there are a variety of great bars and restaurants. Generally easy to park, even in high season. Beach is mostly pebbles but great for clambering over and breathing in the sea air!

Scenic walks

You can take a wonderful walk from the National Trust car park in Penbryn to Tresaith where you can have lunch at the Ship Inn and see the famous waterfall before heading back to Penbryn. The path can be a bit steep in places but the views are worth it. It takes about 45 minutes each way.

A couple of minutes away by car is Long Wood where you can walk into Lampeter - have a coffee or bite to eat and then walk back to your car. Great activity to do on a sunday if you fancy a carvery at The Castle Green in Lampeter.
