SantaPark is a Christmassy theme park known as Santa Claus’s own home cavern. During summertime, it is open from the middle of June to the first weeks of August. In winter season the park is open from the late November to the beginning of January. There is an entrance fee for the park. In SantaPark visitors can meet Santa Claus in his office and take pictures free-of-charge with him.

Be sure to check out Ounasvaara, which is a popular outdoor recreation area with winter/summer trails. The observation tower on the hillside offers magnificent view over the city and the Kemi River.

A central square - dedicated to a heavy metal band - with a lot of different boutique shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. In winter a huge Christmas tree is placed there and in summer it is popular as a place to host various events. You can find the tourist information office here as well.
