Best pizza around. My kids request it every time they come home. Traditional pizza is great and so is the Buffalo pizza with grilled chicken. Make sure you order some garlic knots too. Wings are also really good.

Hiking the trails and waterfalls for days.

The fingerlakes are jam packed with great hiking, beautiful gorges and an abundance of waterfalls. So much so that when my daughter was studying abroad in Africa her class went on a trip to look at waterfalls and she said, “Meh….I’m all set. I’ll stay here and read.” 🤣
One of the most beautiful parks around. Only a 10 minute drive. Hike the gorge, have a picnic or cool off in the pool. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water!

Approximately 25 minute drive, but so worth it. It’s a must see. You can take a very easy (and flat) hike to the falls along the water, or for a quick stop, check out the overlook.

Wineries, microbreweries and distilleries - East Side of Seneca Lake.

One of my favorite things to do is go out for a tasting!! These are some of my favorite places to go.
Visiting the wine trail never disappoints. The east side of the lake is more recently developed with wineries, microbreweries and distilleries. They could keep you busy for hours. Fun shops, great food, occasional live music. Some of my favorites: Wagner, The Scale House, Grist Iron, Catherine Valley Winery, Hazlitt if you’re a fan of Red Cat - also just a fun place, Penguin Bay Winery, Two Goats Brewery, abs Cold Beer…(yes, there is a bar named “Cold Beer.” The west side of the lake boasts wineries that have been around longer. They are a bit farther apart, and there have been newer places popping up all over. Don’t miss Lakewood, Glenora, Barnstormer, Fulkerson, Miles Wine Cellars.

Things to do. Places to go.

The finger lakes area has plenty of places to explore if you’re not the outdoorsy type.
This park at the south end of Seneca Lake has picnic areas, a skate park, a spray park and a beach with swimming. They even have a dog swimming area. Launch your kayak from the shore and explore the lake.

A short drive to Ithaca

Ithaca is a 30 minute drive and if you have the time in your stay, definitely worth the trip. As an Ithaca College Student (a few years ago 😉) I fell in love with the town, the energy, the beauty and the eccentricity. So much so that I decided to stick around.
The Ithaca Commons is a great place to shop, eat, drink and take in all that Ithaca has to offer. Great food at Viva Taqueria, Ithaca Ale House, Simeons on the Commons. Forget the street parking and go to the Seneca Street Garage. Parking on the street is a nightmare.
