Dizengoff Street in central Tel Aviv is one of the city’s most iconic streets. Originally described as the “Champs-Élysées of Tel Aviv”, Dizengoff Street declined after the 1970’s and the opening of Tel Aviv’s most significant shopping mall, the Dizengoff Center in the southern portion of the street. In recent years, however, Dizengoff Street has seen something of a revival, with cafes and restaurants, boutique clothes stores, and numerous design shops opening up.

Neve Tzedek may well be one of Tel Aviv’s oldest districts, but it’s still young at heart! Newe Tzedek or Neve Tsedek, as it is also known is another district of Tel Aviv which has become increasingly fashionable in recent years, as restoration works have taken place to restore it to its former glory. Built in 1887, Neve Tzedek was the first Jewish neighborhood outside of the old port city of Jaffa, built as a suburb. Its Oriental architectural style, combined with quaint, narrow streets with boutiques, make Neve Tzedek, which means Oasis of Justice, quite literally an oasis in the modern city.

Namal Tel Aviv, the Tel Aviv Port has recently been restored and is now one of the hottest places in town. During the day, the cafes and stores at Namal Tel Aviv (the Tel Aviv Port) the host some of the city’s richest and trendiest, whilst at night, Namal Tel Aviv transforms into one of Tel Aviv’s most popular nightlife venues. Oh, and by the way, you won’t see any big ships here, maybe just a few yachts.

Perhaps the most ‘off-beat’ destination featured in this list, Florentin is fast-becoming one of the most fashionable areas of Tel Aviv. Visiting Florentin, you will see how this area which is likened by many to SoHo in New York, is undergoing change – with old industrial buildings creating loft apartments, and traditional wholesale stores being replaced by young designers and clothing boutiques. Florentin is one of the most dynamic and fun parts of Tel Aviv, and it is renowned internationally for its massive part in the Tel Aviv nightlife scene.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Taxi, buses, scooters like Bird and Lime

Taxis - are quick and not too expensive. Buses - you need to buy a pre paid card called Rav Kav. No cash or credit cards is accepted at the bus driver Walking is also preferable.
Getting around

Feel comfortable to walk around 24/7

Is is very safe to walk around until the late hours of the night.
Customs and culture

On Saturday (Shabbat) there is no Public Transportation

Due the the observance of the Shabbat, there is no buses on Saturday. My advise is to see what is open on Shabbat before you go. Shabbat starts before sunset on Friday and ends at Sunset on Saturday.
Ways to save

Use electric scooters for short trips

Download the apps- Bird, Lime, Wind and hop on one of these scooters for short trips. Cost a one time fee of 5 shekels per ride plus 0.50 shekel per minute.
Book before you go

Thursday night is a busy night in Tel Aviv

Need to make reservations for all restaurants on Thursday nights.
