Sightseeing

The ferry leaves for both Sherkin and Cape Clear islands from Baltimore. Whale watching can be booked in Baltimore. ( you need to prebook in peak season) You can take a tour around the castle in Baltimore. You could need to check opening times as it varies. Rugged walk up to the Beacon ( not recommended for families with small children) There is a pizzeria overlooking the harbour that has very nice pizzas.

Pretty little village about 20 minutes from our home. The hotel has a swimming pool and I think in peak season kayaks can be hired on the lake

One of the larger beaches in West Cork. I do not think it has a life guard on duty though. There is a lovely hotel here and you could enjoy a nice walk along the beach

Neighbourhoods

Tragumna is a small place that becomes very busy in summer season. When I grew up here there was a primary school here but it has since closed. The Skibbereen Eagle pub is .5KM from our home. There is no shop in Tragumna. The beach is one of the few blue flag beaches in West Cork. I enjoy swimming around the island during the summer when we are home. Many of the homes in Tragumna are holiday rental homes
