Lefkes was the old capital of the island. Located in the center of the island, it was built to keep people safe from pirates that roamed the seas. It is picturesque village, closed to cars, so you must park outside in order to explore the small maze-like streets full of little cafes and shops. From there begins the byzantine road, a thousand year old marble pavestones that leads to Prodromos, and to one of the most traditional tavernas on the island Tsitsanis.
