The ambiance is inviting and cool on a hot day but also transforms to an intimate vibe at night with the lighting. Must try the No Como Carne if you like a great veggie burger (it isn’t vegan though). The Comote (sweet potato) and Plantain Fries are sooo good and my go to’s with Chipotle Mayo dip. The Zucchini Tacos are also a lighter dish that is good, but my friends love the burgers and they are known for that. Try out a drink from the Mixologist on staff!

Traveler advice

Customs and culture

Restaurants

Tip at least 10%-15% is normal more at your discretion. You will need to ask for your bill “la cuenta por favor” when you are ready to pay. Always carry pesos with you because some places only accept cash (efectivo), but they will post it or tell you up front. If you are paying with a card the machine will be brought to the table. If for some reason it isn’t go with them to charge it, never leave your card with another person. And if you are asking for an adjustment to a dish, for example no tomato or sauce on the side or no coconut... be prepared it may still come out with those things lol.
Getting around

Taxi & Collectivo

Taxis will vary honestly when it comes to pricing, depends on the day the time and the driver. BUT it should be no more than 40 pesos in town to give you a gauge. However, there are certain zones that are priced more. Example- if you are getting a ride from the ADO, or if you get a cab sitting at a taxi stand it will be more money as well. You can always negotiate beforehand. xacaret is also a higher fee and taxis should have a price list in car too. ***I can also arrange a taxi for you with drivers we trust use frequently. COLLECTIVOS, ~10peso in town.
Don't miss

La Playa / Beach Clubs

Mamita’s is the popular Beach club but these are the better recommendations for beach areas we like... be aware the shore is not as big during times of the year so research before you go. COCO BEACH, INTI beach club, LIDO & ZENZI beach club, PLAYACAR Beach

What to pack

Playa Packing Guide

A good bug spray, comfortable shoes, a fanny pack or something to keep hands free, eco friendly sunblock (cenotes), hat for sun, umbrella for some unexpected showers or a poncho, cash to exchange, reusable bag that fits easily in purse, packet or fannypack for quick purchases from fruiteria, souvenirs or grocery store (must have own bag).
Getting around

ADO bus

The ADO bus is a great affordable way to take a day trip to nearby Tulum etc. or get to and from the CUN airport. A/C, wifi on most, and comfortable seating. Pretty on time with schedule as well.
