Getting around
Transportation
Download the Yango app. It is the best app-based transportation for the city. Uber exists but there are not that many cars so waiting times are quite long. Regular local taxis (orange) are also acceptable means of getting around but be sure to always negotiate the fare as there is no meter!
Customs and culture
Keep all your loose change
Having small change (any amount lower than CFA 5,000) is very, very precious so hoard it and keep it as much as you can especially if you plan to buy street food or take taxis. There is always a problem with change in the country. Also avoid paying people with your left hand, it is considered rude culturally.
