Pikes Peak

The start of the Pikes Peak Highway is on the other side of HWY 24, and it's an amazing place to see. Don't want to drive it, you can take a tour up the mountain and let someone else do the driving or for more adventure, you can cycle down it (Pikes Peak Mountain Bike Tours) or hike up it (via the Barr Trail).
Drive up: 19 mile paved highway to the summit of Pikes Peak with amazing scenic views and the highway starts just on the other side of Highway 24.

This trail goes to the top of Pikes Peak and is used by locals and local Olympic athletes in training all year round. The elevation gain will leave you winded no matter how long you've been in Colorado so it's a workout but the views are incredible.

At a 41% grade it has an elevation gain of 1,982 ft in .8 miles (1.42 km). The incline is the track for a former hill climbing train (funicular). Now the incline is a local hiking attraction.
