History tours of many heritage buildings can be arranged with an expert in our area. I can put you in touch. Visit the Heidelberg Heritage Museum with its stunning old sandstone building, formerly home to the BAT transport museum, and originally the town's station building. There is a craft brewery and German restaurant with old train dining carts. There can be a delay in waiting for your food on busy weekends. Good kids area. Rasam Tandoori North Indian restaurant is in a lovely old Victorian house with damask wallpaper, great food and friendly service. Eat in or order out, they also have a sushi chef. Yummy Bar and (grill) Restaurant nearby, is in an old building with pressed steel ceilings (their Calamari Chilli Poppers are a must). Smokers smoke freely though and the pub can get active on weekend nights. Unfortunately, smoking is permitted in the restaurant. Heidelberg Club, also heritage, has good pub fair. Yummy Kitchen, in the same street, serves Chinese food and fresh and super affordable sushi platters. Plaashuiswinkel and Sweet Pea and Maple are world-class coffee shops with curated retail items, not open on Saturday afternoons or Sundays though.

Silver Oaks farm is a beautiful spot jussst outside town where you can run or walk for 5km with or without your 4-legged BF. One dog on a leash per runner. Eat at Oak View Manor at Her Majesteas Salon atfer your run. Just confirm whether the restaurant is open first on 082 707 2334 or 079 334 7579. Our doggies wil be in tucked away in the courtyard then and you and yours can eat under the tree. Well behaved dogs (and children) on leashes 😜 are welcome inside the parlour.
