The famous fish market in Bergen. This place is an important part of Bergen's history, but has in the last decades turned into a tourist trap with overpriced products and souvenirs. But you should at least go there to enjoy the atmosphere, even though it's not what it used to be.

The famous fish market in Bergen. This place is an important part of Bergen's history, but has in the last decades turned into a tourist trap with overpriced products and souvenirs. But you should at least go there to enjoy the atmosphere, even though it's not what it used to be.

Drinks & Nightlife

If you like to play pool, darts or shuffleboard, this is the place to go. They sell beer and fast food as well. The interior is kinda ruff though :)

Excellent drinks, slush and a cool atmosphere (vaskeriet translate to laundry/dry cleaners, the store that used to be there, and they have kept the style). During the day you can play ping pong, and during the night you can dance to house and hip hop.

Probably the best micro brewery in Norway (though not so micro anymore). They have a bar in Flåm in the end of the Aurland fjord, close to the actual brewery. Started by an American and a Norwegian. Highly recommended if you like beer and fjords.

Go to Zachariasbryggen and find the bar at the top called Taket på Zachen. It's an excellent place to enjoy a drink and the view of Bergen Bay (Vågen).

The largest shopping mall in Bergen. Easily reached by bus or Bybanen(Bergen light rail). Bybanen takes 35 mins, the bus is around half. The stop is called Lagunen.

Take a stroll throught the cozy neighbourhood of Nordnes. On a beautiful day I recommend you to visit Nordnesparken (the park) and Nordnes Sjøbad (outdoor swimming facility). Bergen Aquarium is also located here.

If you want to see Bergen from the opposite side than the "standard" view from Ulriken and Fløyen, try Løvstakken at 477 m above sea level.

If you want to go outside Bergen to see the fjords, I highly recommend to pay Flåm a visit. You can get there by train or boat, just search for "Norway in a nutshell" online. I also recommend to take the Flåm Railway, and if you're up for it, rent a bike to get back down to Flåm.
