NY Pizza in the neighborhood
NY is world famous for it's pizza - there's so many options on nearly every corner! These are a few of my favorites in the immediate neighborhood, and they all offer different flavors and dining experiences.
Mouth wateringly delicious neopolitan slices. Some of my favorite pizza in NYC. The crust has a perfect balance between chewy and crunchy. So good.

NYC pizza is serious. This place is one of the really good local spots. Get a slice or a whole pie in the shop, or order a whole pie or any of the other Italian dishes to the apartment. We love the Grandma Pie down to the crust! Kids will love the pizza-loving Ninja turtles painted on the building.

Cafés
Local coffee spots.
This is the best cafe in the neighborhood. Good sandwiches, great coffee, a variety of fancy juices, yummy baked goods, all served by a really friendly staff. There's some space for you to break out the laptop and crack out some work. They close in the early afternoon (3 or 4 PM). May or may not have seen the Lucas Brothers here on occasion. ;)

Bars
Local watering holes.
This is a fun dive bar that celebrates it's terrible Yelp reviews. Fully stocked bar, outdoor patio space, crazy decor, and board games, and heavy metal. In my opinion, one of the more fun bars in the area - there's no place like it.

Check out more underground local and traveling acts ranging from electronic music to indie rock. If you haven't heard of who's playing, who cares? This is where you just might find tomorrow's musical heroes. Was psyched when I was able to move so close to it.

Need a place to jog? Play some basketball? Let your pup off leash? This park is a little bit of a walk, but it's worth it, as it is the best park in the area. Have you seen the Netflix show "It's Bruno!"? They frequent this park. There's also a bunch of great places to eat, cool boutiques, and vintage shops nearby.

I love planet fitness for it's accessibility and convenience. It's great for travelers, as there are so many, all over the place! It's affordable, and has all the basic gear I need for a great workout. This one is in walking distance.

Food scene
Incredible all vegan Ethiopian food. If you're not vegan... Don't worry, this food is so amazing you won't care. I love Ethiopian food, in general, because of the communal nature of the meals. It's fun and delicious. Bunna also does a traditional coffee ceremony, and offers cooking classes. Love this place.
