Golden is full of adventure. Here is a list of a few of the activities we highly recommend doing while in Golden
Skiing or snowboarding in the winter, hiking and mountain biking in the summer the resort has it all. Do not leave the resort in the summer without seeing Boo, the resident grizzly bear who lives in a 22 acre enclosure on the resort. Tours runs daily in the summer

Go rafting, its so much fun. Its the reason we moved here, we went rafting once and then never left. Glacier Rafting is a local company and we wouldn't go rafting with anyone else

Edgewater is located 45 mins south of Golden on the way to Radium. Right off the highway lies the Edgewater Par 3, a great family friendly par 3 golf course complete with homemade pie.

One of our favourite summer activities is hiking. Check out http://goldenhikes.ca for detailed information on the different hikes in the area. I would highly recommend the Canyon Creek hike. The trail head is a 5 minute drive from Habart Hideaway.

New in 2021 the Golden Skybridge is Canada’s highest suspension bridge perched 420 feet over the canyon. There is often live music and a great kids playground there as well. Zipline and the NEW rail coaster are a must

A favourite local pastime is to float the Columbia River on a hot day. You can rent paddleboards and canoes from a couple different places in town who will meet you at the drop off and pick you up at the end. The float takes about 2-3 hours from Nicholson to town and is a great way to spend an afternoon.

If you are heading south for the day or arriving from the south on highway 94 be sure to stop at Beeland. It is about .5 hr south of Golden and worth the visit. Full of local honey, tourtiere, organic meats, soups, homemade hot sauces and chili starters. The bugaboo gold alpine honey is our favourite.
