Speciality Coffee Shops
A list of independent cafes in York that serve speciality coffee. 'Speciality coffee' is a term used to refer to coffee that has scored over 80 points on a 100 point scale by the Speciality Coffee Association. Speciality coffees are unique in that every step of the process from bean to brew is monitored and understood to improve its quality and sustainability. The list only has recommendations for places I've tried and love.
Located on the hipster central Bishy Road, Stanley & Ramona fits about 16 people in total but it is a sweet spot for cake and coffee. Their coffee is from London-based roaster, Origin Coffee Roasters who are known to produce beans of the highest quality. Origin Coffee Roasters are frequently found competing at the World Barista Championship. While at Stanley & Ramona, don't forget to check out the rest of Bishy Road.
