The Cowichan Valley is considered the "Provence" of Canada. With its unique climate, wineries and farms. In recent years microbreweries and artisanal distilleries have become popular.
The restaurant set within the vineyard has amazing locally-sourced food, and the chef will accommodate all dietary needs. They serve their own wine and I highly recommend the charme de l'ile.

Blue Grouse Estate is comprised of 65 acres tucked away on a sunny Vancouver Island slope in the Cowichan Valley. The warm, dry summers and mild, moist winters make the Cowichan Valley Canada's only “cool” maritime Mediterranean climate. They offer wine tastings, soup and bread lunch, or you can take a picnic overlooking their vineyard.

Ampersand Distilling Company is a family founded craft distillery located on a five acre organic farm in the Cowichan Valley. Though trained as engineers, father-son duo Stephen and Jeremy Schacht have used their knowledge of science and traditional distilling techniques to create a hand crafted distillery where they can make hand crafted spirits. Both their gin and Vodka are delicious
