Cholula Walking Tour w/an Archaeologist
If you're an experienced traveler who loves history and learning about other cultures this is the tour for you! We will meet right in front of the Cholula train station. The first stop on the walking tour is the Iglesia de los Remedios, the famous church built on top of the pyramid. After visiting the church and hearing all its stories you will enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Cholula, Puebla, and the volcanos. From there we will walk around the Great Pyramid and you will learn all about life in Prehispanic Cholula and how the pyramid was built as you admire some of the ruins. The next stop is the local cemetery. Here you will observe some of the more modern aspects of Cholula’s current population and learn how some Prehispanic elements have managed to survive into the present. Then we will walk by the Prehispanic ceremonial center with several pyramids and ruins. Your will understand the importance of Cholula in ancient times and experience the grandeur of this amazing religious center. From there you will take a final walk down to the San Gabriel Complex where you will see the main church and the Royal Chapel. You will also visit the incredible 16th century murals in the Franciscan Convent and learn about the Colonial history of Cholula. Our walking tour ends at the Zocalo of San Pedro Cholula.

Prehispanic Cholula, Food and History
If you enjoy local food and culture, this is the experience for you! Journey back to Cholula's Prehispanic era in the company of an archaeologist and a chef for a one of a kind adventure that includes a short walking tour and a complete Prehispanic meal. We will meet right in front of the Cholula train station. First, we will walk up to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Remedies, the famous church built over the world's largest pyramid. We will then walk around the ancient center. I will give you an in depth explanation about Cholula's ancient history and the way people lived in the Prehispanic era while we admire some of the ruins. We will then take a 15 minute walk along the streets of one of Cholula's oldest "barrios" (neighborhoods) where an urban art initiative has fused with a very old traditional lifestyle. Then we will arrive at the home of a local chef where you will be served a seven course meal. You will taste an indigenous beverage called pulque. We will explain all about Prehispanic gastronomy and how ancient foods were made using traditional techniques and materials. After a demonstration from the chef you will have the opportunity to prepare one of the Prehispanic recipes included in the menu. You will enjoy these ancient recipes made with natural, seasonal, and local ingredients while also learning about the history of each dish.
Prehispanic Food Tour - Cholula with Local Chef
Due to the success of my experience of “Pre-Hispanic Cholula, Food & Pyramids” where I co-host, I decided to offer just a tour focused on pre-Hispanic cuisine. Learn about the customs of food in pre-Hispanic times, its utensils, native ingredients, cooking techniques, and the great connection with nature and its daily food and ritual as a local chef. The tour starts at the Zócalo de San Pedro Cholula (meeting point) where we will have an explanation of the market in pre-Hispanic times, its exchange system and the ingredients used. Then we will head to the municipal market of San Pedro Cholula where we will have a tour with the explanation of the utensils and cooking techniques. During this tour we will be able to taste some food and drinks that are still consumed currently.

You will then visit the local market, discover the variety of fresh seasonal ingredients, and observe local customs and practices. Finally, you will taste some of the most authentic flavors of Cholula, enjoying local recipes that have been made for generations. The food tour can be adapted for vegetarians and vegans.
Discover Cholula with an Art Scholar
First, we will meet at the fountain localized in the main square of San Pedro Cholula, the millennium-old town outside Puebla. We will walk through the main square and into the 16th Century Convent of San Gabriel Arcángel and its Capilla Real, to discover its unique architectural features and fascinating history, as well as the traditions of Cholula, where Spanish-Catholic conquests met indigenous rituals which take place to this day. We will head to another 16th Century chapel to admire its altarpiece and learn about the traditions of Cholula, where Spanish-Catholic conquests met indigenous rituals which take place to this day. Next, we will walk through the largest-based pyramid in the world, and walk up to the church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, which sits on top of the pyramid. Finally, we will visit the Regional Museum where you can learn a lot more about Cholula and some other Mexican civilizations and art exhibitions. Other things to note It's a lot of walking, bring comfortable shoes. The climb up the pyramid might be taxing to some people. The tunnels in the pyramid might be a challenge for claustrophobic travelers.

I'll sit and be tired and I'll invite you to a Porteño cantina to relax eating a delicious traditional snack and drinking beer.

Ruta de los Volcanes Iztaccíhuatl y la Herencia Ancestral
El Iztaccíhuatl es la 3ra. montaña (volcán inactivo) más alta de México y se encuentra aproximadamente a 2 horas y media de camino desde la ciudad de Puebla. Esta experiencia de senderismo es completamente privada y tendrá una duración total de 8 horas ya contando las transportaciones. Empezamos con el pick up en la ciudad de Puebla o Cholula en un vehículos modelos reciente con amenidades.Antes de llegar al parque, realizamos una parada en el famoso “día de plaza”, donde distintos productos locales de la zona se instalan para ofrecer distintos alimentos, frutas y verduras.(SOLO JUEVES)El trayecto será hacia Paso de Cortés (3500 msnm) donde se realizará el registro, se usarán los baños y el anfitrión te hablará un poco más del parque nacional, flora, fauna y la famosa leyenda de los volcanes. Tendrás una increíble vista de los volcanes y podrás tomar muy buenas fotos. Después se avanzará en el vehículo unos 7 kilómetros más para llegar a la “Joyita” (3900 msnm) que es el último estacionamiento para comenzar la caminata sobre la ruta de los portillos. Empezamos nuestra caminata a los 3900 metros, dependiendo del clima y tu condición física iremos avanzando por los diferentes portillos llegando máximo hasta el 3er portillo (4524 msnm). Sólo el trekking sobre el Iztaccíhuatl tiene una duración de hasta 3 horas y media. Descenderemos y partimos nuevamente hacia Puebla o Cholula.

Raquel, Jorge and I will show you how to prepare it in our baroque restaurant located in the Historic Center of Puebla, on the street of typical sweets. Chiles en nogada, Pipián Rojo, pipián verde, Manchamanteles, desserts and cocktails are part of the recipes that we will share with you in this experience. As we cook, we will start a journey where we will tell you the story of the dish, enjoy a drink or two, with or without alcohol, and once our food is ready, we will sit together, relax and delight in the fruits of our work! Podrás realizar una obra pictórica de pequeño formato (25 x 30 cm) en una clase de 2 horas, disfrutando de un ambiente bohemio y completamente artístico, en mi taller donde he impartido clase por mas de 17 años, en el Barrio del Artista, situado en el corazón de la ciudad de Puebla. Otros aspectos destacables La clase de pintura puede durar entre 1 y 2 horas máximo, dependiendo el tema y las habilidades de cada persona.

What is the practice of transcendental meditation? The class begins with a practice of simple poses to relax the body, followed by the practice of deep breathing and mantra that are the preamble to transcendental meditation with soft music in the background to complement the experience. The practice takes approximately 1.5hr. ending with stretching and a short feedback talk about the experiences. Classes are held from Thursday to Monday from 7:30 am to 9am.
