“Roberta’s literally put Bushwick on the map: before Roberta’s very few people were venturing out to this corner of Brooklyn. Opened in 2008, Roberta’s still has the best pizza around. They don’t take reservations and you should be prepared to wait. Our favorite item on the menu is the Bee Sting Pizza, featuring spicy soppressata with a drizzle of honey.”

Bookstore
“Powell’s City of Books is the largest used and new bookstore in the world, occupying an entire city block and housing approximately one million books. Located in downtown Portland’s Pearl District, the City of Books has nine color-coded rooms and over 3,500 different sections, offering something for every interest, including an incredible selection of out-of-print and hard-to-find titles. Dozens of acclaimed writers, artists, and thinkers visit each month to read in the Basil Hallward Gallery (located upstairs in the Pearl Room), and a one-of-a-kind Rare Book Room draws bibliophiles from near and far to browse an impressive collection of autographed first editions and other collectible volumes. ”

Market
“This is both sightseeing and a great food scene. Plus it’s a 100 years old. Take the Historic Angels flight tram ride across the street and visit the Broad museum. Recommend Sticky Rice for Thai food and Sarita’s for Salvadoran Pupusas but most of the places are pretty good. Parking is attached to the building. Make sure to park there and not the on the street or anywhere else. Multi level parking attached to the GCM. Parking cost here is the cheapest in the area. Entrance to parking off hill street. Small entrance so you might miss it the first time but definitely park here. LOL! ”

Mountain
“Hike up the mountain in approximately 2 hrs on a clearly marked path (sure, it’s challenging but kids and elderly people hike it all the time! It’s totally doable for anyone unless health conditions are a factor and it’s such a great accomplishment!) or take the gondola up for breathtaking views of the city, bear viewings, lumberjack show, birds of prey show, Zip lining, tree top adventures, restaurants and more!”

Bakery

“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”
